Operating since 2011, we are Auckland’s most experienced and longest running speech and drama company. We are proud to be a family business and we treat all our students, parents and teachers as part of our extended family.
We currently teach itinerant speech and drama lessons in 20 Auckland schools and community venues
Our team holds some of New Zealand’s highest quality actors, public speakers and teachers, whose combined background is a rich tapestry of acting and communication experience and formal classroom training as educators, as well a shared penchant for fun, silliness, flair and discipline.

In a complex, ever-changing, isolating and technology-addicted world, it can be difficult to guesstimate what skills students need in order to prepare them for an uncertain future. However, there is a bedrock set of skills that have always been essential throughout history, and will continue to be for all generations to come. Those are; the skills that give us the ability to communicate, to be creative, and to have a grounded sense of self-confidence. In a nutshell this is exactly the family of skills that Head Held High speech and drama lessons are designed to develop. At Head Held High we use hundreds of fun games and imaginative scenarios in our lessons, to teach conversation skills, confident body language, respect for ourselves and others, how to relate positively to peers and adults, public speaking skills, good manners, and harnessing creativity. All blended into a programme that all types of students love and have fun being a part of! In addition to all of the above, Head Held high students also have the opportunity to gain globally recognised qualifications by sitting Trinity College of London or NZ Speech Board examinations.
Holiday programme :
Head Held High holiday programmes are full of fun, learning and creativity for students aged Year 1 to Year 8. The programmes are taught by the same professional, enthusiastic and caring teachers who teach our speech and drama lessons across Auckland during the school terms, and they pack the day with speech and drama games and activities that kids love.
Designed by our Head Teacher – Erica Kröger – each day will be as FUN as possible for the children, whether they’re having their first taste of speech and drama or are experienced campaigners with Head Held High.
It’s really important to us that all students feel welcome and comfortable, regardless of their level of previous speech & drama experience or interest.
Our teachers are experts at reading the individual requirements within a group, and the holiday programme games and activities will be delivered in ways that are engaging and challenging to all individuals’ skill levels, simultaneously.
